Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
